Our Favorite Fall Food (Recipes)

When the summer turns to fall, it is time to break out some of the 'cooler weather' recipes. The authors and staff at GHP have complied a list of their favorites.

LASAGNA-- Shanna Alderliesten (@writerShanna)

A nice, warm meal

Shanna loves lasagna, specifically the Jamie Oliver recipe for Lasagna found HERE. It looks delicious!

PUMPKIN COOKIES-- Kimberly Mitchell (@KSMitch17)

So pretty.

Of course, a list of fall recipes can't be complete without pumpkin-- especially pumpkin cookies! Kimberly Mitchell has her own spin on the new classic. You can find more about it on her website HERE

Mourton Family Pumpkin Cookies.
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. shortening/butter/or margarine
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. pumpkin
Cream sugar, shortening and egg – Blend in vanilla and
pumpkin.
Add flour/soda/salt/baking powder/cinnamon.
Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.
Frosting: (I hardly ever make the frosting. The cookies don’t last long enough.)
3 tbsp butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. milk
powdered sugar
Mix brown sugar/milk/butter and boil for 3 minutes Remove
from heat and add powdered sugar to thicken frosting to your preference. Spread frosting on cookies or spoon generously into mouth.

APPLE PIE-- Josh Wilcox (@jdavidwilcox)

The perfect dessert

What better way to end a meal (or make an entire meal) than an apple pie? Warm, cold, with ice cream or with whipped cream, you can't go wrong with this favorite. Josh's favorite apple pie recipe can be found HERE.

CARAMEL APPLE CIDER-- Mary Fan (@AstralColt

A great way to end a meal

We've done main courses and desserts. Now, it is time for an extra special drink. Mary's favorite recipe comes from FIVE HEART HOME. If you love the Starbucks Caramel Apple Spice Cider, you'll adore this all-natural version.
